SVDP Veterans Mass

 Veterans Mass-2016 

veteransThe St. Vincent de Paul Society of Prince of Peace parish honors and remembers the living and deceased veterans of the parish every year.

This year's celebration began with the 8:00 am Mass on Sunday, November 13, 2016. The reception, staffed by the Knights of Columbus (Council 14111) of our parish, followed with a short program in the School Hall led by Ellen Leidy (retired corporal from the Marine Corps) who was Master of Ceremonies, with the help of Gloria Masters and Bill Justice who led us in singing the National Anthem. Cub Scout Pack 3759 and Boy Scout Troop 759 presented the colors. Ellen presented the Vietnam veterans with a special pin.

The reception, staffed by the Knights of Columbus of our parish, began with a short program in the School Hall led by Ellen Leidy who was Master of Ceremonies, with the help of Gloria Masters who led us in singing the National Anthem. Our parish Cub Scouts presented the colors. Below are some of the pictures from this event. Note the flag made by our Faith Formation children and the card presented to each Veteran.

Below are the pictures from the Mass and Reception from November 4, 2012. The Knights of Columbus of Prince of Peace helped with the refreshments and our parish Cub Scouts helped before Mass to give pins to our veterans and presented the colors during the program in the parish hall. Gloria Masters sang the National Anthem and Ellen Leidy was Master of Ceremony for the program. All veterans received a Challenge Coin from Ellen Leidy.
